First of all, a massive thank you to the following people for their time and valuable feedback and insights. 🙌

I believe that education is fundamentally social, and most people want to experiment and learn together. As a matter of fact, I have recently finished an On Deck fellowship, which showed me the true power of community learning, despite not meeting my peers in person. Think of home-schooling during the pandemic… What comes to mind?

To me- someone without children- it’s a vision of stressed, time-poor parents, reluctant children and strewn learning resources. I would claim that my learning curve is steep not only because I’m new to this space. The world of VC in general is developing and changing fast. I’d almost describe it as a shift of power. …

My parents had been saving to help me cover the costs of university, but the tripling of fees scuppered the plan. Had I started in 2011, the fees would have been £9,000 across the three years. But starting in 2012 meant that the fees were £27,000 (excluding living costs).

As soon as the new fees were established, my parents encouraged me to look internationally for cheaper alternatives, with various Dutch and German institutions in the mix. In…

Having a coach or a mentor at work is a proven way for individuals to accelerate professional development and for companies to improve organisational effectiveness (study 1, study 2).
